When I"m solo on the Hoopty, I'll run one board pulling a mix of tandems and solos totaling 6 rods then 4 deep off the back and and other side. If I have company I'll pull up to 14. I've installed zero degree rod holders and use temporary bow rail holders up front to handle the extra rods. A word of warning; check your temp or adjustable rod holders often. Several TF posts last year were regarding lost equipment from adjustables slipping or failing.

Damn Paul...I want to see 14 on the hoopty!! That has gotta be a sight
At this point, I'd just like to see the Hoopty or I'm gonna lump you in the category of Marty (5th) and Tim (Twiskman) of invented boats
To answer the question, I ran 12 all last year...this year, I'm getting overzealous...maybe 14! I'm trying to get rid of my planer boards and run only boat rods though thanks to some help from a great guy (no names mentioned....Steve) I may have it nailed down!! Then I'll be running 9!

Spring I'll run 10 - 14 rods depending on how large a crew, 6 - 8 off of boards, rest boat rods.
Summer and fall it will be 4 - 8 rods depending on if the blues are in the area. I had eight rods in one day with Reeltor & my crew one day last fall and had every rod hook up with 15-20" blues, on two straight passes, what a mess?

13 plus a dummy or two. CC with no T-top, but a have a tree growing out of my bow to attach planer lines Thought of addding a few more rods in the spring, but decided against it seeing how the wind is shifting over at the DNR . ....Don

23 with a full crew. Maxed at 26 to prove I could fill every rod holder on the boat. 19 is the efficient maximum.

I've typically run five with 2 dummies in the spring and three in the summer with no planers. This spring with the added boards it will be more like 11 to 13, less until I get used to the boards.

Pheeww! I thought a three rod spread all hooked up with blues was a mess! But when I did it, I was solo and have no auto pilot.
