Tying knots has always been a problem for me, and it's definitely my nemesis as I get older and suffer from Dupuytren's disease. (It's much cooler to call it Viking's Disease though ) My hands don't handle small things very well. Good thing I wear a size 15 shoe, eh?

I'm with Marty, Keep It Simple Stupid.

With only have 3 fingers on my right hand knot tying is very hard for me. I have been using the Homer Rhode loop knot and it's very easy for me to tie. I tie the double uni knot to attach my braid to my mono.

Scott all your son will now after reading the book is a brand new custom rod.

Well 30 years ago I got my hand caught in a chain and sprocket in a bowling alley machine my Dad owned and I cut my middle and pointing fingers off on my right hand. Now when I give someone the finger it’s a stump… You should see the faces on people when I pick my nose, they can’t believe I can get my finger that far up.

That's a cool story (not that losing your fingers is cool or anything).....but MAN you could really tell a whopper with that if you wanted to....

I had the surgery in March, and was back to fishing 3 weeks later.

Not that big of a deal.

I had one surgery in the fall of 2007, right before Thanksgiving and it took me until the end of Feb before I had decent use of my hand.

Being a diabetic for more than 30 years slows down my recovery time a bit I guess.

Here's a picture after the bandages came off:
