Congrats and thanks for a great read! The pics are great too.


I was in a yearlong multi-species tournament a few years ago. The guy that held the year's Pickerel record was winning with a pathetic 1 pound fish mostly because nobody had been targeting them.

On Dec. 31st, another tourney angler and I had had enough/ We hauled my boat down to Johnsons Pond in Salisbury. After 3 hours of no bites I was headed back to the dock and cast up under the dock with a black Zoom trick worm, Texas rigged.

Landed a nice 3 pound 5 ounce Pickerel on the last day of the year to snatch the trophy from him.

Keep it up! You should try to get out today or tomorrow with the nice weather. Otherwise Feb might already be in danger of not catching a fish!
