Default 12/4 Big fish from Deale

Crew today was Capt. John Deering and my friends Kira and Dave (relative newbies), left the dock at 0800 and ran out to where I left them biting yesterday……they were still there.
John took the wheel while I instructed Dave and Kira on rod placement and planer boards…..since we had able hands we ran the full spread.
At 915 a board tandem with mismatched chart chute and white shad got hit hard, Dave grabbed it and brought in a 41” fish…… which decided to travel from on side to the other fouling lines on its way in…… his personal best rock.
After getting lines reset, the same rod got smacked again !
Kira got it and after a long fight a nice 37” came over the side…..her personal best !
At 932 a back deep umbrella got hit and John brought it in……it was short and went back.
Then the tide and current died……a long boat ride ensued….
Three hours later a board tandem white with purple shads starts screaming drag, I grabbed the rod from the rocket launcher and handed off to John……who worked valiantly but had to hand it back off because it was hurting his barely healed hand from a serious knife accident a few months ago……this was a monster…..and Murphy’s Law was in play cause it hit the weakest rod on the boat…….I finally got it boatside and we (John and I) couldn’t get it into the net…….finally grabbed its jaw and hauled it in……45” fish…..real nice!
Immediately another board rod went and Dave brought a nice 37” came over the side for our over limit.
We were all panting and trying to clear the deck when the next rod banged (white UB 125back 16oz), Kira grabbed it and a nice 30+ inch fish was released since we had our overs.
A few minutes later we decided to head back in, pulled rods and got to the dock to clean fish…….I’ll let Capt John add to the story…….

Was good today talking with Baldzilla and DonRitchett....hope you guys got on em a bit too.

Great report Captain Steve. Glad you picked up some nice fish. I appreciate talking with you to get a reel-time assessment of how things are going in the waters just to our south...Don
