Default Osprey's are here

Got a report of the first ospreys in our area.
Weather in the 60's and the "closure" doesn't start until April.
PSCR is still possible this month

Bay water never dropped below 40 this winter. Big fish are here sporadically and you can find schools of resident fish.

Have fun before the evil catch and release opportunities go away April 1

So are we 100 percent assured that a closure will be announced for April?

As I understand it, Trophy Season is fixed. Starts May 1st (no targeting stripers in April).

Summer/fall regulations are not yet fixed. Still some discussion about these seasons. However, I think DNR has it's mind made up and "public comments" are just to let you think you have some input

Get on the water now for March PSCR. We hooked 4 fish Thursday (got two to the boat).

They are here

Birds were breaking on bait today around 10:30am. Right over the ledge leading into Cox Creek where the depth drops from about 4' to 25.

Almost looked like early October kind of action.

But no Osprey yet.

For the past two years they've shown up between March 28 and April 1 I think.

I'm not surprised some are showing up already; I was out back this evening trying to conince myself that they would arrive any second......

I miss the racket they make.

Yep,
Saw them in Deale Thursday. Also gannets on the water near Chesapeake Beach.
About 2 weeks early.
Unfortunately, jellies are here too
