Default E10, mtbe,...

always a crappy topic, but i think this is a good background info on boats and E10/mtbe, from a reputable source.

I absolutely hate the stuff.

1. My top end speed went from nearly 50 mph to 36 mph after the switch.

2. The maintenance costs rose dramatically, as now I have to replace filters more often, and I've had to have the carbs cleaned multiple times after periods of inactivity....even after taking all of the prescribed precautions.

3. I also get less mileage out of a tank of fuel. My 12 gallon tank used to keep me running for 5 full days, now I get about a little more than half of that.

Also noted on that link....only the government could make the regulations regarding 3 silly lights so flipping complicated!!!
