Afternoon unplanned trip, finished up a tIle job early.

Had leftover shrimp and blood worms. started looking for spot in 10 feet and found large feisty ones. Could not find anything other than extra large in various depths.

After catching about 10 spot we moved out deeper into about 30 feet of water.

Found some marks pop a spot over nothing doing...when we drifted into 23 feet or so we started catching nice size Croaker on the shrimp.

After a couple of drifts the spot had about had it and I fillet it for cut bait.

That was the ticket for some 19 to 20" rock.

After a limit of rock we taught the croaks a lesson!

The bottom fishing in my area right now is excellent for Croaker spot & small perch

Only thing I could ask for is smaller spot and larger Croaker

Doesn't that seem to be the way it goes too often? Too much of the wrong thing and not enough of the right. If you have time to do stuff , you never have the money to do it. If you got the money, you're too busy to spend it.

Sounds like the stars are there for you, they just need to line up a little better. Thanks for the post and good luck!
