Default Where to keep boat if coming from Philadelphia?

Hi Guys,

Need some recommendations on where to keep the boat (23 ft cc) if commuting from Philadelphia. For the past few years she was docked in Oxford, however we sold that house and I am now commuting from Philadelphia to fish...

Can you guys recommend any marinas closer to the bay bridge/fishing grounds? Any dry dock options so I don't have to put bottom paint on her?

thanks in advance,

Alex

On the South River - try Turkey Point. They offer a dry rack storage.

They are on south side of the river - roughly 1 mile from the mouth so not far run to the bay.

Podickery Point is nice and should have multiple storage options for you. Might be "too nice" for the occasional fisherman though......as in more expensive since they offer a lot of amenities.

Damn close to the bay bridge.

I would look Rockhall or somewhere on Kent Island from Philly. Come down 95 to 896 to 301. Easy driving.

I grew up in the Philly area and visit there regularly.

Of course you could also start fishing DE Bay and catch a greater variety of species!

Greg- thanks. Rockhall was my first thought as well. My father kept his sailboat there for years prior to us having a home on the eastern shore. Normally, I would drive 95 to 896 to 301 to 50, so keeping the sled there would save about a half hour.

I assume you will be at the Judge open house March 1st? Be good to put a face to a name. We have spoken a few times about trying to arrange a charter but could not make our calendars cooperate!

Yes, I will be at the open house this year. Be sure to introduce yourself.

Trophy season may be worth while being closer to bloody point but rockhall is a great place to fish out of too.
