Justchillin- thank you! It was nice meeting you and hopefully we can get back out in the spring when the bite is better. I got wheels turning now on how I plan to set up the spread. Hope the rest of that week worked out better for you...
Happy holidays!

Jeff,
I run 18 lines on my 36' with no tangles.
We can run 20 or 21 with a little extra effort.
Let me know if you want input.

Bruce

Bruce- I would never turn down free advice. We ran 21 with Marty without much of a hiccup. I was thinking 8 off each board and 5 boat rods wouldn't be too tough with 150' planer lines. I used to run 15 off my 27' with 100'. If you prefer to email me- jeffnewell@atlanticbb.net. Thanks in advance for any insight you can share.

FWIW- Bill Judge says after about 16 rods, you don't really catch any more fish... But it sure looks cool!! . But why did he have to say that in front of my wife? It almost cost him some rod sales, almost....

Have a safe holiday season,
Jeff

Jeff, I sent you a photo of my spring spread that I ran on Patent Pending. I will "tweak" it during the PSCR season. Last year, I caught lots of fish off the boards 5 or 6 bars back. You should have no problem running 21 off your boat. Seven board lines off each side, and seven umbrellas will work nicely. You have enough extra rod holders to "move" rods so you have an ally to bring fish to the boat.
If you try to run more than 7 off each board, you need a heck of a lot of planner line out and it's harder to maneuver the boat, both around other boat traffic or to get back to the spot you hooked up fish
Jump on our boat next spring to see how we run the spread.
5th (Marty)
