Default Mmmmm....crabs!

We ran 1200' of trot line this morning for a few hours in the Magothy and were rewarded with about 3/4 bushel of decent crabs. Probably let twice as many females go....and the females were BIG.

We always play by the rules though.

My reply, while funny, might not be suitable for the general public.

Anyway, we ran in water about 7 to 9' deep today and caught our fair share. Won't be long before they're deeper though.

Went to a friends party last night which was also a crab feast. Looked in one of the 3 baskets and saw a good bit of red. Females. Well, all three baskets were females. I was there and they were there so I ate them. All big, fat and very tasty. It still bothers me that these females were caught ( by a commercial crabber) and just brought $35.00 a basket. First female crabs I have ever eaten..............Gary

We caught a few that had a bit of red on their claws, but we checked their bellies and they were definitely males.
