You'll see a lot of retired guys doing that job. They do it more for fun / get out of the house then the money.

We've been interviewed 6-7 times , mostly at Sandy Point.

It seems well run - had a follow up call twice to confirm info the interviewer put down - guess they spot check every so often.

We came back in the fall 2 years ago - interviewer asked if we had fish. My dad said yes , interviewer asked if he could weigh / measure.

My dad looked at the scale and asked what it's limit was. Interviewer said - it's plenty big enough - rated to 20 lbs.

Dad laughed and put a fat fall 38 1/2 on the dock. It bottomed out that scale - fish weighed about 23 lbs on my 50 lb scale.

.
That's kind of why I posted it here. Figured maybe someone here would enjoy the job and find the perks more beneficial than the meager paycheck.

I applied. Fully dependent on the hours they wanted me to "work" and what the job actually consisted of, I will seriously consider it...

That's right! You have your summers relatively free with your main job. Good luck!

It would be great to fill the position with fishermen. I was interviewed last summer at Curtis Merritt in Chincoteague. I had a bluefin tuna and a dolphin on the boat. I showed the girl my catch. She asked me what kind of fish they were and I jokingly told her they were both Tilefish. She wrote down Tilefish for both. I then had to argue with her to get her to change the report to say tuna.

You should have told her they were "Philayo" fish.
