Default A Versus thread

The NorthStar M121 package w/ 2kw radar and sounder

vs

The Garmin 3210c w/ GSD21 and GMR18

Both are about the same amount of $$$. What do you recommend and why?

The M121 system is nice, FF is pretty good, radar is pretty good and chartplotter is pretty good. The C-Map charts are quite nice in fact. I don't have a lot of confidence in the support for that system a few years down the road. With Garmin you have a great chartplotter, pretty good fishfinder and very good radar. While it wins in my opinion on categories alone, where it really shines is support and compatibility with other Garmin products. For example, you can buy any current Garmin screen and network it with that screen should you ever want to mount a unit in the cockpit. I would go the Garmin route personally. I would spend a little more and get the 4212 with GSD-22.
