Default Fresh Water Favorites..

So since Mark posted an introduce us to each other thread...How about we all give a shout out to our favorite Freshwater spots to fish ?

I think I am going to have to go with Johnson's Pond in Salisbury and follow it up with Leaonard's Mill....

Doesn't hurt to have the mother in law living in Salisbury either....Good place to crash after putting in a hard days work on the Ponds....

1. Pocomoke River - Not because I always do well there....it's just a beautiful river. And navigation wise it's the most forgiving river ever.

2. Johnson's Pond. Caught my biggest Pickerel ever there on New Year's Eve last year - 3.5 pounds. And there's no restriction on gas motors. Oh - and the spillway below is awesome fun.

3. As a tie, I'd put the pond at Wye Mills and Unicorn Lake for some full day panfish fun. Never caught really big fish in either, but I have great memories of launching a 10' jon boat and fishing from sun up to sundown on those ponds. The Crappie at Wye Mills used to be terrific...not sure how it is now.

4. Piney Run in Carroll County used to be a favorite too, but I live a little too far to make it out there regularly now.

Heard some bad things a while back about leaving your truck and trailer at the ramp at Johnson's. Was this a tall tail or what? I spent many a nice day there back in the '70's and '80's.

The ramp isn't in the nicest of neighborhoods, but I've never had any trouble there, and I don't know anybody personally who has.

I can see why people would be apprehensive though.
