Default My 1st report

I just installed my new HDS7 on the Grady. Of course we were in the MSSA Tourny this past weekend. Fishing was incredible for us. Friday we started out of Taylers Island heading south. Watching the Lowrance I started seeing bait balls. Was so nice to see them in color. Then we started seeing arches. Suddenly a green parachute off the planers (150') takes off. I pull the rod and you could feel the head shake. gave it to my son. He pulled in a 43" nice rock. He was so excited. Since we kept seeing the bait we stayed in the area. Friday was great 7 fish ranging from 33 to 43 inches. We kept 2 and released the rest. At one time we had 4 rods down at the same time. Thrilling.

Sat we headed back to the same spot and sure enough the bait was still there. We ended up keeping 2 more fish and releasing the rest.

What made things even better is that all the fish were caught on my own lures. Felt great.

I know this may sound stupid but I believe that the new Lowrance was the key. We were seeing the bait and the fish and insted of moving on we stayed in the area and worked the pods.

Great report, thanks! you are going to love that unit the longer you have it. I have the HDS10 and can't get enough..I spent HOURS after I first got it just going and looking at spots I fish in the bay...detail is unreal and has definitely made me a better fisherman!!

Vince; glad that hds 7 is working out for you. I love mine as well. I keep finding new things it can do each time out. Sounds like the fishing is much better south. Glad you got the fish with your lures and your new hds.

Thanks for the report, and congratulations on the catching! Friday was indeed a good day for us too. We caught three by 10am, and almost had multiple fish on. We caught our last two within minutes of one another. The bite shut down after 10. Thanks.

Nice work! Mind sending me the GPS coordinates of those bait balls and fishing areas you were picking up those rock? .. times are getting tough fishing, even the best guys are catching 2-4 rockfish in an outting, or even coming back with a skunk! So feel good with 7!

Between the Lowrance and your home made baits the fish don't stand a chance. Nice work Vince.

Thanks guys. It did feel good. Even better to see my son by my side and him catching fish. He's 31 and really gets excited when hes on the reel.

Old 7. We were fishing in 70-90' of water infront of the gas docks.
