Default One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish

Fished Kent Island and South River with my daughter this morning.

She managed 5 entries for the MSSA Youth Angler of the Year contest before 10am, and a bunch of those little croakers that we're not even counting. A little breezey early but a beautiful and fun time on the bay.

Anna is really enjoying the contest and I hope the same for other kids.

It's easy - send pic with date, length, location to YAY@mssa.net

Way to go Anna!

I love being out fishing with my son. We used to take my bass boat out to a few White Perch holes on the Magothy when he was little and we'd crush them for a few hours, then just drift around for a while, eat lunch and down a few sugary drinks.

Then we'd gun it all the way home hitting nearly 45 mph in that little 15' boat.

That is it! A little bottom fishing; hopefully get on some fish action and a bouncy ride to/from - kids love it.

It is interesting going out for her fishing goals, instead of it being my trip. The other day she asked me what's the most citations anyone has gotten,...

You know I spend waay too much time looking at her fish pictures!

Cool beans..

my boy checked in spot, rockfish, and perch the other day plus he is off the pier by our house almost every day. He is bad about the photo thing though.

Congrats to your girl! I have never caught a red drum myself. (i grew up in NJ and we dont get them there). She is one up on me!

Congrats to your daughter on a five species day. I have yet to check the Maryland redfish box (Fla & NC only for me), and am a tad jealous (JK! ).

Did you all harvest any of the perch for dinner! Thanks for the report1

As you might guess - we had more than one of everything except for the redfish.

We kept one blue that day since we did not have bluefish on the table since last summer. I grilled it on a piece of tinfoil with a very thin coating of mayonnaise and a sprinkle of Old Bay on the fillets - very good! FWIW, we try to limit the overall quantity of fish we eat and we vary the species also, but we definitely enjoy the white perch throughout summer.

Heaven help that redfish if he gets to slot size and we run into him again
