Default Better Late than never. Fishing Report 7-29

We fished out of Queen Anne Marina which is just a hair south of the Kent Morr on Kent Island.

Trolled for about 4 hours with small/medium spoons. Don't know the depth for sure, but probably less then 20 feet most of the time.

We went as far south as the mouth of the Wye. Most of the fish were caught down that way rather than near the marina and bridge. We managed to find 4 or 5 schools of feeding fish on the top and did pretty well running through them. The birds had only found one of the schools.

Total keepers:
13 Rockfish 18 to 26 inches I think.

About a dozen Blues.

We probably released another half dozen of each for their size.

We fished right after that afternoon storm that came through.

Sweet report. You've been looking for a day like that for a while. Congratulations.

Thanks. It was definitely a fun trip.

Now if Garlien and I could just manage a trip like that....

Last fall was really productive for us though, so I can't complain too much.

What I learned on this most recent trip though, is that a goood pair of binoculars is invaluable for spotting breaking fish....especially with my terrible eyesight.

Seriously....finding 4 or 5 schools of breaking fish is pretty freaking sweet.
