That's why I just want the base unit with the Navionics chip. Don't see the need for the Insight maps just to turn them off. That said, I didn't know you could even do that, so it's an option even if it is more expensive. Jim had the Insight unit in stock last time I checked.
This back-ordered unit is currently holding up delivery of my boat, and it's pissing me off, so yeah, I'm whining. Next time, I'll know to ask if the unit is in stock before I order it. I would love to have fished Friday morning before the snow. It was dead calm with a Nor'easter on the horizon. Perfect opportunity for a fish of a lifetime the way things are going this winter.

Unfortunately back order is just a sign of the times. My wife bought me a Stradic CI4 for Christmas and it took about 8 weeks to get. Now my Seastar steering is broke and the minor part to fix it is 4-6 weeks out. I thought I was upset about the reel and now I can't even use freakin the boat.

I am going to bring a ltj rod to the judge yachts open house so you can see what one looks like and if your boat is there i will allow it on the boat in a rod holder for looks.

Im not 100% sure they are turned off, but they don't show up and my unit is blazing fast...the new update that came out Feb 1 made it even faster. I got my insight unit for the price of the non insight so it was a no brainer, SNAFU when ordered but I'll take it....used it before I could save up for a year for the platinum card
