Default Any Eeling Soon?

Hey all,

I'm looking to wet my toes on some eeling this fall. I've not tried it yet but the endless photos of cows being landed really gets my attention.

Anybody that's going anytime soon, please let me know. I'd be happy to trade trips or whatever.

Thanks.

Keith

This time last year, we did some eeling up by the bay bridge. We would drift structure and drop offs at dusk with eels under bobbers set a different depths and some weighted eels. We dont get the cows like they do at the CBBT but still fun none the less.

Here is a nice fish caught 11/07/08 on an eel

I saw some pictures on the "brand X" website from last fall on the lower potomac. Those guys were catching some huuuuge fish drifting eels. Since that's right in my backyard, I was going to give that a shot..I just don't have radar on my rig so I'm reluctant to head out at night.

Thanks for the info Greg. Nice fish, by the way!

Down by PLO I would drift eels on the south side by smith point on the edge of the drop off at first light or at dusk. Set the eels at different depths. I have never done it but always wanted to!

Are you eelin the pilings or lumps north of the bridge? I haven't eeled the pilings since the early 90's, but it was fantastic during the fall seasons back then.
