Default Slim Pickins Trolling between 85A & TPL, Nov 7

Left out of Sandy Point around 6:30 this morning. I knew the most talked about bite has been down off Ches Beach, but didn't want to go that far today (by trailer or boat). Headed down to 85A area and from watching the FF knew we were in for a lousy morning. Had Crabby and Son (Gary & Kevin) on board today. Well we soaked those lures real good and dragged 'em all around that area. We knew the south winds were suppose to start kicking up around 10, so we trolled to the north. Only managed to boat 2 twenty inchers and a couple of other knock-downs that didn't stay put. Looks like the large pods of bait have moved further south. Had no where near the action I have experienced in this area during the last couple of weeks. This great bite started north of Balt light about a 5 weeks ago and slowly moved its way down the bay. Guess we just have to hope we see the return of some of those big fish like we had off Mattapeake last year. Planning to launch at Ches Beach on Mon am with LTJ & Trolling gear...Don

Don; thanks for the post. I'm headed down to 85a tomorrow in a friends boat. We will give it a try and if nothing happens, I'll head out of CB next week. 5th (Marty)

We didn't catch many fish but had a good time doing it. It started off real cold going straight into the wind but ended with a drive home and A/C on. Thanks for taking my Son and I fishing Don..............Gary

Marty - I hope you have better luck. Best marks were around 85A and a number of gannets, yes I said gannets, were sitting and flying. I kept hoping they would do their thing, but no joy. I had a blast in that area just a few days ago...Don

Don, Make the Monday trip happen.

Troll more big lures 9” and big storms also. Keep one or two rod shallow. its time for the planner boards.

Hopefully you will be rewarded with a pig
