Unplugged, but now I worry my Gen1 cables ( including SS/DS) may not match a new Gen2 head. Anyone know?
Of coarse my Nav Chip and all waypoints are gone too

That sucks buddy.

Not sure if I have any of your waypoints but you're welcome to look on my GPS for numbers.

Be sure to contact DNR - often marine thief gets caught. Kinda a limited field - thankfully.

The DNR nabbed the POS stealing boat batteries not too long ago.

It's way over my head but there is a boat alarm system that will call your smart phone. Think it's motion activated - might be worth looking into.

Not to wish you bad luck but thief might strike again - knowing brand new replacements are on the boats they hit.

DNR sent an officer. They will be checking pawn shops. I have some friends checking flea markets. I'll keep an eye on Craigslist. They took a lot of electronics, they will be looking to unload them.

That really stinks! I just added a little to my arsenal and as much of a pain as it is to haul that stuff home every time, I guess it is the safest thing to do. Maybe you should consider listing what was taken here and on TF and THT just so 60,000+ eyes can be on the look out for them? Just a thought...

Jeff, don't you need to be in bed. You have to get up early for the tournament tomorrow.
I should be asleep too, but still too ticked off.

Had an HDS10 stolen off my boat on the trailer behind the motel in Kiptopeake last Dec. Had a DuraSafe lock on the bracket and the thief cut the bracket. So the lock did it's job, but the thief still got the goodies and the lock. The Gen1 wiring worked on the Gen2 replacement. My insurance went up more than $100 when it came time to renew. At least the dirty crook disconnected the wiring and didn't cut it. I feel your pain. If you think you see your unit on Craigslist, the police will have to follow up on it. CL will not disclose any info to private parties. And if you buy a unit you think may be stolen, it can be confiscated and you may be criminally liable for receiving stolen goods if it is hot and you admit that you thought that to be the case. A serial number can confirm identity of your unit, but being able to describe stored waypoints and describe the tracks stored on the unit can help confirm a positive ID of your property.

Marty,

From one crime victim to another, I'm sorry to hear it. I feel your pain, and I hope that they catch the POS, lock 'em up, and throw the key away...
