While waiting for Garlien at the marina around 4:30 I prepped the boat and put my gear away, then decided I'd toss the betlespin around for a minute. On the first cast I got a hit. "Cool!" I thought. On the second cast a monster White Perch crushed it. As I hoisted it onto the boat I thought to myself, "This might just be a decent night."
The WP haven't been biting much with all of the debris and nasty water color. Now the color is back to "normal" and it seems the WP have realized it too.
The wind was kind of gnarly tonight and it was hard to get a good anchor set, but we still managed about 8 nice sized WP and 3 Rockfish. 1 was a little undersized, but he still put up a nice little fight.
The diminishing weather conditions drove us back in a little earlier than normal, but I'd still call it a pretty decent trip out. Ended the night at the local watering hole with a margarita, my wife and 2 of her cute friends.
Life is good.
