I canceled today due to the small craft advisory issued yesterday afternoon for today. They called for NW 10-15kn with gusts to 20kn with an incoming and 3' seas. I figured that wouldnt be good during the incoming in the morning and my party was driving from PA. With the NW being a bear in the mouth of the Potomac (not bad up home but not down there) the wind would be unobstructed against the current. Walleye Pete cancelled his trip too.
Yesterdays bite was slow but we squeezed out fish to 26". Caught a good number of 18-20" fish too. It just never got hot. Fish were pretty scattered and we didnt start catching until we committed to long drifts and continually working the rods until we went through a few.
Capt Lee Tippett of Fin Finder Charters was next to us a couple of times and took a few nice photos. I will post them below. Lee is a full time guy who is known to be one of the top captains on the bay and has a big beautiful boat. He also has December openings and does walk-ons down there. Give him a shout if you are looking to get out. Here is his facebook to follow for openings:
