Default Charlie Schneider\extream weight loss program

For those of you who didn't know; Charlie has been in the hospital with a severe Vibrio infection. I just returned from visiting him in Kernan's Hospital (rehabilitation). He is in good spirits, but has gone through a lot, and has a lot to go through still. He has undergone 7 surgeries and has one more schedualed this week, before skin grafting is started.
The good news is Charlie has lost 25 pounds in the month he's been dealing with this infection. The bad news is he will need lots more time to recover. He sent me photo's to use in my upcomming seminar for the August Broadneck MSSA meeting. I feel uncomfortable posting them here without his permission.
Let me tell you, the photo's are chilling. His discription of his legs (and I agree) are that the doctors have filleted the skin off them and the muscle and tendons are exposed.
The hospital is not far from where I live. I will definetly be going back to see him. I have to work around his physical therapy sessions, but if anyone wants to go, I can take them with me.
I also was thinking about possibly getting a group of guys together and perhaps we could all go to a hospital meeting room, and they could bring Charlie down to meet us. This way, we wouldn't interfere with the other patient in his room. We could just shoot the breeze about what's bitting where, and fishing\boating in general.
If you would be interested in this, let me know, I'll try to set something up.

I say we kidnap him and take him fishing

That sounds like a great plan to raise his spirits - think we could visit around 6-7 pm ?

I have just a little information (from seeing him Sunday). What he told me was, he has PT (physical therapy) twice daily. He's probably pooped after PT. However, on Sat. he only has PT once; and on Sun. he has no PT.

That's why I went Sun. to see him. I would think, I could arrange something on a Sat. evening or Sun evening. He seemed comfortable at this stage of recovery, I don't know how he would feel once "grafting" new skin begins.

I will see what his schedual is (for upcomming surgeries) and try to set something up

If 4 or 5 of us showed up, he would be delighted.

Crap that SUCKS.

I won't have much free time to make visits, but if there's ANYTHING else I can do, please let me know.

That's at least 3 bad infections that I know of now this year.

Lucky for me my chances of contracting such a thing are quite low......As I understand it, you have to actually go fishing to actually have a chance of getting sick like this.

Best possible news. Charlie is home. He still has one more surgery before skin grafting is begun.
I just spoke to him and he wants to thank everyone for the kind words both here and on TF.
His ability to log in on CBA has been disrupted, so we will get Scot to check on getting him back online
He can read posts, so feel free to express well wishes.
