Smile Fishing report - Brickhouse/Bloody Point

Launched out of Matapeake this morning at 7:30. Just me and a friend from work, everybody else cancelled or couldn't go. Trolled an 8 rod spread with boards. Started at 88 heading south on the ES side weaving in and out of nets. Trolled south to BPL. First fish- 40" on tandem white chute back 140' on planer in 72'. To date, this is largest fish caught on my boat. About 20 minutes later, a boat rods goes off, 37" on single purple/green chute back 70' Great, overs in the box and its not even 9AM.
By now we were off 86 so headed back up towards TPL. Another board rod sounds off and its another 37" on a tandem chart chute back about 120'. A quick release and we trolled back almost to where we started w/o another bite.
Decided to pick up spread and run up to the Chester River to try and catch some unders. Only 2 other boats there. Saw lots of bird action but nothing underneath seems interested in our offerings. Trolled around for a bit but things there were not what they were a few weeks ago. Pulled up and headed back to the ramp about 1pm.
Nice day, not as cold as I thought it was going to be, and we caught a few nice fish...perfect!! I hope to get another trip in before year's end but don't think it' s gonna happen. Good luck to all those that do make it out though!!
