We left the dock and fueled up around 5:15 after having a hard time getting the boat started. All the rain and wind did a number on the engine compartment but we finally got things under control.

Since we had my son with us we decided to hit a favorite White Perch hole so we could make sure he saw a little action. We were concerned the bay was going to be terrible to fish in and we didn't want him getting all cranky over not catching any fish.

If we only knew what we were in for.

We left the creek and idled out into the bay. There was SO much debris in the water that islands of trees, branches grass and mud had formed. Birds were sunbathing on them.

We anchored up and had a slow start, but we managed a few big White Perch.

Then Mike caught the first Rockfish.

"Hell yeah....it's on!!!!"

Even that was an understatement.

We caught easily 2 dozen keeper sized Rock up to about 26 inches. All of them came in 4 to 10 feet of water.

Even my 11 year old man handled 3 nice fish, with only one getting off right next to the boat.
