My advice - drink heavily.
FWIW: It is not just you. Many very good fishermen are getting skunked.
The ones catching are pulling out all sorts of tricks to get 2-3 fish.
There are less fish around to be caught. Don't care how good you are - no one can catch when nothing under the boat.
