Default First Report of the Season - Week of 3/13

So I had to get out sometime...Headed way south to Key West (where it happened to be near record cold temperatures for most of the week)...Got three days on the windy waters with a great captain Chris Trosset on the Reel Fly. Chris's dad is an almost legendary captain and it has past on to Chris. This were my 4th, 5th, and 6th days with him in the last 2 years. Great guy, great captain.

So we hit the reefs and got the usual yellow tail, red, mutton snappers, scattered mackeral, bonnent head and sandbar sharks, blue runners, speedos, remoras, red grouper, couple of assorted jacks, barracuda...no cobia this time......Best part of the trip was several blackfins we caught (in my fridge), and the best part....I finally got my sailfish ! I was so excited...Had a great celebration that night !

Spent time on Duval street...The Raw Bar, Pepes, Fat Tuesdays, Louie's, nine one five were all good eating spots as usual...Hit some bars...the whistle bar, sloppy joes, green parrot, captain tonys, the rum bar, hogfish and others...We stayed at the Casa Marina which is a great place if you don't know about it...

Couple of pics to share....One of the bar at the Casa which we spent a lot of time at...
