Like I said it was in bad shape. I wish I would have thought of taking a picture. At first I thought it could have been an eel but the size of it made me think that it was a snakehead. It was around 24" and big a round as a boat rod holder. The fins weren't continous around the body like an eel they had a break in them before they met the tail fin.

I know that snakeheads cannot survive in saltwater but they are thriving in the potomac which does become brackish. I have caught freshwater fish in the Severn such as bluegill and catfish so there is a chance.
