I use the stuff called "reel magic." I cant claim that there is anything magical about it really......but it does seem to keep my mono from getting too much memory to it, and its keeps the hooks from rusting on the cheaper lures. It also protects the fimish on my
reels really well. Its not a substitute for proper cleaning, but when im fishimg 2 or 3 times a week I use the stuff religiously.
Actually I think I only had a handful of birdsnests this year.....so maybe it helps a little?
