Did someone post a message from the Maryland DOT about the Maximum of 8'6" width on trailers has been extended to more then that or is it just "Don't ASK, Don't TELL? ...

I was just looking at the 27'.
The specs indicate that it is not supposed to be towed on Maryland's highways without a special permit. Is this part of MSSA's "Don't ask, Don't tell"?
