Great Livewell Tip

Someone told me to freeze 2 liter soda bottles with water and keep them in the livewell one at a time to keep your bait fresh and lively. What a great tip!:D I kept spot in my livewell for 5 hours yesterday and they were just as lively when I took them out as when I put them in!

I have been that for years and it does help keeping your bait alive. I first did it in North Carolina to keep my mullet alive and as long as I changed out the water in my homemade live well and put a block of ice in with them they stayed alive.

Good tip.
The surface water that livewells draw from are often 5 to 10 degrees warmer then the water the baitfish are caught in.
Warmer water holds less oxygen - equals sluggish bait.

Good tip. My father suggests the same thing. We put ice bags in over the weekend and I was surprised how quickly the bait perked up.
