What happened? Where did they go?

Went out today for the first time in almost a month. Of course I pick today to take 8 people out. Trolled from swan point to triples to LP to Podikery then ran to Hickory Thicket and tried all around the mouth of the chester river. Left the dock at 6:30 and got back at 1:30 with 3 keepers in the 20" range. Caught a dozen shorts and had several hits that didn't come tight. Saw very few fish caught all day but heard of a few decent ones caught. Only running 6 rods today and surprised at how many boats are running boards. Fish were too spread out to report but everything was caught on white BFGs.

May try a night or two this week if possible then headed to OC and mate for the Poor Girls tourney next Saturday. ;)

Jeff, you just ruined my evening:eek: the charter fleet out of Deale is struggling:mad: I had hoped the fish were further north. My boat is getting detailed and bottom painted this week.
Find them for me so when I'm back in the water, I can save fuel:D

Agree with Don....

They are taking a couple of weeks off while I recover from shoulder surgery...

:)

Well they should tell people that before we burn fuel looking for them!! Might go back to taking a full cooler out and trying to empty it instead of vice versa for awhile then. :D.
Didn't get out tonight and tomorrow's not looking good either but just might try to give them hell Wed eve. I've got to try....for Marty's sake! :p

In the end, its the cooler that counts !

I think the issue is I finally got my boat straight and out on the water. Things were wide open until then........

Shoulder surgery? I remember you saying it was sore. How long before you can go back out on the water?

I feel your pain! I believe it was the same way last year. When I finally got splashed in Oct, things seemed to have shut down about 2 weeks beforehand.

Don,

It ended up getting to the point where I could not lift it above the collar and was hurting everytime I was casting...

They ended up taking a half inch off of the clavicle, a half inch off of one of the bones in the A/C joint (they were bone on bone, no fluid or cartilage left)...So now they don't touch each other at all any more. They also removed several bone spurs, one of which was beginning to cut into my rotator cuff (thank god the cuff was only minimally damaged), and cleaned up some arthritis in the joints...

All of it was done by arthroscopy, and will help make the turn around sooner...

Surgery was last week, the surgeon is hoping that since there was not much soft tissue damage, that I could be back close to normal by the week of 8/19....So about 3 weeks out of action, maybe some P/T but ready to go after that...

Tell ya what, I miss being out there, but now it may not be as much of a pain on the A@#$SS, I mean shoulder, as it had been....

Is your son going out with Keith in Montauk ?

I have a great story to tell you about Keith, sharks, and the Discovery Channel...

Hope you are doing well...

:)

Mike
