The hell with the regulations

In this time of crisis the feds and state should open seasons and quotas up for those who can fish. People need to eat so why shouldn’t they be able to supply? With marinas shut down fuel will become scarce so why not let em catch while they can. I think the rockfish would be fine with one hell of a lot of boats still on the hard. Let those that can catch what they can!

Probably so far off their radar they never even considered it.

Every lobbying group has been pounding state and federal government with their lists of demands, and the ones with the most money are probably winning as usual. Do fishermen have a strong voice in Annapolis or DC? That's a legit question; I really don't know. My opinion would be "NO" based on how we often get treated. The stink of that MSSA debacle is probably still clouding around us.

My wife is the accountant at Queen Anne Marina and she's been trying to get people to have their boats launched, but almost no one has done it yet. (The cost of launching is included in the annual contracts so it's not even like the marina is trying to grab money; they're just trying to operate as close to normal as possible.) The fuel dock is open as well.

Here's the best list I could find this morning of marinas open; it contains mostly east coast marinas but some others as well. Lots of Maryland marinas have updated their info.
