Middle bay 9-28-2011

While waiting for Garlien at the marina around 4:30 I prepped the boat and put my gear away, then decided I'd toss the betlespin around for a minute. On the first cast I got a hit. "Cool!" I thought. On the second cast a monster White Perch crushed it. As I hoisted it onto the boat I thought to myself, "This might just be a decent night."

The WP haven't been biting much with all of the debris and nasty water color. Now the color is back to "normal" and it seems the WP have realized it too.

The wind was kind of gnarly tonight and it was hard to get a good anchor set, but we still managed about 8 nice sized WP and 3 Rockfish. 1 was a little undersized, but he still put up a nice little fight.

The diminishing weather conditions drove us back in a little earlier than normal, but I'd still call it a pretty decent trip out. Ended the night at the local watering hole with a margarita, my wife and 2 of her cute friends.

Life is good.:)

There has been a pretty decent bite of jumbo perch lately, and they are great eating. Glad that you found 'em.

9/30/11 - Report

Headed out for an hour on Friday, wind was not that good, waves were not that good, rained on an off...

Still managed a couple of Rock around 18", nothing to write home about and some perch...

Another boater caught 3 in about the same amount of time and his largest was 26"....He was light tackle trolling...

Water was a ton cleaner than it has been and debris was close to non-existent in the main Bay....Seems like its getting piled up on the shores and in the backs of Creeks/Rivers....

Water still around 72 where I was, on the upper west side...

I think the next few days will not be the best, low pressure system for the last couple of days will be here for another couple and that seems to "slow down" the activity...My guess is that when the pressure starts to change around Tuesday things should start to pick up...The warming on Saturday, Sunday, Monday should help as well.

Good luck this weekend to all...

Well I'm blind in onbe eye and drunk in the other, so you'll just have to take my word. Besides, the only picture I have of all of them makes a lot of money for me on "spot'swife'scutefriendsarenaked.com"

Even the big WP up in the freshwater rivers are biting pretty good.
