Start of 2012 fishing

Ok; so Scott thought I needed to go fishing. I called Lou and Mark (my fishing buddies) and Lou and I decided to hit Beechwood Park for some yellow/white perch fishing today (Mark had to get his truck emissions tested).
Lou and I tried to catch something, but to no avail. We did see two small yellow perch caught. We tried from 10am to 12pm and then decided to get some lunch.
We called Mark and arranged to meet at the new "Green Turtle" off rt 100. Well that was a mistake. After a philly cheesesteak and too many beers, we are 35 dollars each in the hole for fishing this year.
Thank goodness we didn't have to buy any gas for the boats, or it would have been much worse.
Fishing is not a cheap sport. Did you know the Green Turtle has a pool??? Wait until this summer; you may see our boat in the parking lot. The waitresses are real cute.
Amy got a really nice tip from a couple of old fishermen. At least I got to cast a line today.
See you on the banks of the Magothy.

Marty that sounds a lot like the last trip Mike and I had at Beachwood. We saw a few fish brought in (one was a really nice Yellow Perch) but we didn't get a single bite.

We tried a few ponds but they were frozon over ( a few weeks ago.)

Pretty sure our trip cost us a bit in food and booze too.

I'm dying to feel some pullage.

Try Cookie's restaurant on Mountain Rd next time if you're looking for some good grub and fun conversation. Sit in the back. :D

Sounds like the misadventure my buddy Norm and I had last summer one of the many times that the wind was howling and there were 3 to 4 foot rollers on the bay. We ended up at Mike's crab house on the South River, and it went downhill from there. I knew that Norm would fill in as pilot, so I had ennough beers for the both of us.
