Hand Lining

Went with Capt. John on the Patent Pending yesterday for some catch and release fishing. Was a beautiful day on the water but fishing slow. Late in the afternoon got a double hookup on what felt like a pair of nice fish. Dale began working on onefrom the starboard corner while Curtis began working on the other one from the port corner. As Curtis was fighting his I looked back and saw what no one likes to see. A fish on a umbrella rig that was too small to pull clip had become tangled in line with fish Curtis was fighting. While John worked on unhooking and releasing Dales fish I began taking wraps and hand lining other fish, no easy task with braid line. After a few moments second fish was at boat and both released healthy after some quick photos. Reset spread and fished about another hour or so before heading back to the barn. Now I can say I have finally caught a fish on the boards.
