Tested out my New Thread, Pretty Day

Was itching to get out and test my freshly respooled reels with the Suffix 832.

Hit Sandy Point Friday about 11:00 AM, found a EMPTY and I mean empty parking lot, which kinda surprised me. Headed out under the Bridge and went to ES Rock Pile. Found a strong outgoing and a small Boston Whaler, drifting North to South. They nodded that the fish were cooperating, so we pretty much figured out the drift, and started hooking up right away. Nothing huge, I'd say 15 to 20".

We played with them for a couple of hours, and then committed the ultimate sin, leaving fish for fish. Just searching around the Western Shore Pile, nothing but dirty water.

Bobbed in and out of a few supports, nothing. Went over to Eastern side of Channel, nothing. Sooo.. back to the ES.

Joined by another boat and pretty much got back in line for the same drift.

Tide finally eased up and we called it a day at 3.

Water temps with 41.2. Jig heads were 1.5 oz. Most productive colors were hot pink and Opening Night.

Great report. :) I will be splashing the boat for 2012 on St pats day:D

The fishing should be good early this year if the bay dosen't get colder.

Did you se any bait fish when looking around?

So how do you like the Suffix line? Apprently it did ok for you or we'd be hearing stories of 20" fish that kept snapping the line. :D

Knots tie up tight? Casts ok?

Do you think DNR was concerned about kept fish or was their main goal really to just make you pull everything out?

Sounds like a fun day. Go forth and sin no more.

i used to street sail the parking lots there in winter. WS sail on an over-size skateboard.

come to find out, parks like that seem to be common rendezvous location for bashful adulterers. i guess less chance of getting spotted by someone they know and not as embarassing as checking into a hotel room. look for cars meeting up, or parked at the outskirts of the lot. typical might be a minivan and a cheap sedan for example.

i guess i went off on a tangent - hey congrats on getting in some fishin!

ps - here's some street sailin from denamrk. it's actually very zenlike to do. don't need much wind at all.

Sorry for the delayed response.. Valentines Day kicked my ass but good this year.. Which is a good thing.....

I do like the Suffix, my BFF would not steer me wrong and if its good enough for Phil, its certainly good enough for me.

BEST OF ALL, I HAVE FINALLY, and I mean FINALLY learned how to tie a 10 by 10 !!!!! Hallelujah, PRAISE THE LORD:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

As for DNR, she was so ****ing ugly and bored, I just think she needed something to do...
