Quick, Down, and Dirty

I must be getting old. I'm pooped from fishing the eastern shore with Mike (Garlien) and Scott (Spot77). Mike and Scott were heading over to some ponds I showed them last year, and I begged a ride with them. I sweetened it with the idea that I would show them ANOTHER sweet pond I knew of on the way:D.

We took a side trip to the new pond, and Scott was having wet dreams of largemouth bass, crappie, and chain pickerel. The pond is posted and says you need permission to fish it. I pulled out my permission slip from my walet and showed Scott it was from 1999:eek:.

I have fished it a couple of times since then, but I want to wait until midweek when I can see the owners and get a more current slip:). I think Scott will keep reminding me to get the updated slip:rolleyes:.

Anyway, we hit my old ponds and had a great day. Scott and Mike are proficient at artificial baits and they bring lots of different lures when we go. I, on the other hand, like to use the old technique of a bobber and a shiner;)

I put out three rods and got lucky hitting the trifacta; a crappie, bass, and pickerel. (pic's at bottom) On the way back to the truck, I put on my only artificial lure that I carry; a number three or number four mepps. If it swims, it will eat a mepps. I made a couple casts and hooked up on another largemouth:eek::eek: After rubbing it in sufficiently, we made the long treck back to the truck.

Another nice day with good friends. Thanks for taking me on short notice:D

Nice work!! Much better than going grocery shopping with the wife like I did. Was able to smuggle a few plastic tubs into the cart which just might end up full of tackle sometime soon :D

Three species day! Can't beat that with a stick. Congratulations!

One of these days I'll warm up to the idea of using live bait.

I get such a rush out of "fooling" fish with artifical lures though, and that's hard to give up.

Perhaps a little easier to give up when nothing is biting though.

I was whooped this morning too....had a hard time getting out of bed. And I think it was a less physical day than being out on the bay for 8 hours.

Always fun and a lot of laughs hanging out with these two guys.....
