10/16 Light tackle
I hadnt fished in weeks due to kids schedule this fall but I did get to shake the cob webs off the boat last Sunday with my son. We ran south into the 15kn winds until we found birds in 22' of water on the west side.
First fish was a 22"er and the fish were on the surface. We had a pick of fish for bit but had to keep moving because the fish were moving fast and our drift was equally as fast due to the stiff winds. Most fish were 16-23" but the biggest was just at 28". It wasnt on fire but fun none the less https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...1a&oe=58ABCA92 https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...df&oe=588FD9EC https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...fa&oe=58A0736B Ran home at 23kn with the winds to our back.. https://scontent-iad3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...7b&oe=58ADBC19 |
Good work Greg. Not sure I could digest all the info on your screen. I subscribe to the KISS (keep it simple stupid) principle. Probably why you can catch more fish than I can. 😊

Nothing too fancy there. Just the screen I use a lot when running. Radar on the left (with a fleet of sailboats and anchored ship in red) , plotter upper right, and sounder bottom left showing both high and low frequency. Data box is just Speed, water temp, time, and tide info.
When I am fishing, it is split 1/2 sounder and 1/2 plotter. The tool I use most for finding this this time of year is my stabilizing binoculars. |
I too enjoy your screen shots.
Keep them coming. One day, one day, one day, I'll have radar. 5th |
