Fun day at the aquarium w pics

Not exactly a fishing report but about the next best thing to one.
Went as a chaperone with my son's school. Now picture 40 kids 11 to 16 years old - on a bus after being snow bound for a week. Now picture the bus crawling into Baltimore along a traffic clogged Rt. 295. The 30 minute drive took almost one and a half hours.

Once there though - it was great. Only about 25 other people there. The boys wanted to run through the exibits - I wanted to watch the fish closely.
You can learn a lot from watching fish.

The shark /ray pool was wild. Far corner would be perfect for a hand line but I was on good behavior :D

Saw the smaller tanks and then came face to face with some 30 inch Rock.

I swear they were eyeballing me and sorta doing that fish smirk. I put the volunteer diver pamphlet I had picked up against the glass. The Rock waved his fin at me - telling me to bring it on. His little stripped a$$ is mine in a few weeks. One of the staff asked me to move along and wiped some of the drool from my lip.

The Amazon display was cool - some huge fish in those tanks.

The Lion Fish are pretty but are very dangerous critter.

Walked along the shark display - lots of them just inches away.

Finished up the short day watching the cownose rays. Wild to watch them fly underwater.

The volunteer diver program looks easy and right now the staff said they could use a few. I plan to apply and even the score with that smart a$$ Rockfish.

The Baltimore aquarium is definitely top notch but on the expensive side! Hope Tyler had a good time.........Gary

I have not been there in a few years. My daughter is now 4 and would love to have an outing like that. Thanks for the idea.

TED:p

Not sure if they still offer it but there used to be a great deal in the late afternoon.

The ticket price was cut almost in half. Drawback was it only gave you about 2 hours.

Glad you held yourself back from juming in. Thanks for the pic's and did you get any droll on the glass I know I would have....:D

Steve - trust me - it was oh so tempting to go after some of those fish.

Drool - hell I was leaving puddles under most tanks. The Rockfish one is cool - kinda dark - the Rock swim in/out of view.
