CBBT Trips
Anyone planning trips to the CBBT this year. I usually go the first weekend in Dec. But am considering the second?
I troll, eel and jig. Typically eel first light, then troll the pilings with big baits for bubba until we see birds and will chase them too. Our biggest there was two years ago at 48" 48lbs! Looking to break that this year. |
I will make a trip to either CCBT or Wachapreague, maybe both. I just put 4 disc brakes on my trailer and replaced the single drum. I have a 1500 GMC that felt like it was being pushed when braking. Hopefully this will help and make the drive more enjoyable.

If you dont mind me asking. can you email me the cost of the drum to disk conversion? Our boats are nearly the same weight wise and I am have to think ahead and take it easy  I was planning on doing the swap when my brakes are done but I may do it before if I get the time and want to spend the money.

Hey Greg,
I'll be there the week between Christman and New Years. Will also be there the second weekend in December. We will have to see though. If fishing stays good up here, I don't see no reason to run! Ok, maybe for the eeling. . . |
We are looking to go a few times this year...we have never fished it before so are looking for experienced HOs that may want to go with us...Mike has already said he might want to go but if anyone wants to go let me know!

I've done CBBT trips for the past two years, but when I go it's usually a suicide trip ie down and back in the same day. Many of my trips aren't planned more than a week or two in advance because I don't need Hotel reservations or need to take off from work etc.

I never have been before either but hear about great trips as well as possible rogue waves to watch out for.
Any basic info on ramps and hotels to use or to stay away from? I have a 24' Bay boat. I know I could "Search" on another site but this will become a must visit daily, hourly site now. Just keep it simple. Thank you, Jeff |
I tow my boat down there. I stay at the Kiptopeke Inn and launch at Kiptopeke St Park. It is about 3 miles north of the bridge. I would rather tow down the flat, less congested eastern shore than fight my way down 95 to Va Beach
http://travel.yahoo.com/p-hotel-3237...RzbGsDdGl0bGU- not the fanciest place but a place lay your head and rest. Lots of fisherman there. Used to be a dump but they cleaned it up some a few years ago. We still call it the cockroach inn :D |
Thanks B,
Jeff |
I have never been and hope to try and make it this year. The Frederick MSSA chapter is putting together a trip that I may hook up with. Sounds like a blast to fish down there...Don
