A Reminder

With all the increased live line fishing for Stripers, I've noticed a lack of Spot in some areas.

In those areas there is still a large amount of small Croakers.

Take the time to make sure the bait fish you catch are not these undersize Croakers. No spot behind the gill and a multiple color hue in sun light are the easy clues.

A bait well full of undersize Croakers can ruin a day of fishing, if checked by the NRP.

Croakers have to be 9" minimum.

Perfect point..Was just thinking the same thing on Friday night while I was out...

The mouth on Spot remind me of Dolphin. Croaker have mouth more similar to White Perch IMO.

Good call....especially for those of us new to livelining.

Another easy way to tell the two apart.

Spot has a tail that forks inward.

Croaker has a tail that bulges out - almost to a point.
