Unbelievable

Boarded plane for keys at 7:00 am this morning and now it is 10:00 am and still fricking sitting. First the plane got stuck on ice trying to back from gate and now some overheat light came on and we are still at gate. Being held hostage by Southwest Airlines!!!!! Get me outta here!

Machinery doesn't do well at 11 degrees. Always can be worse.

Can you practice casting down the aisles?

Confuses say : Never rush airplane mechanic :D

Trust me - you are not only traveler delayed today , lot of flights getting out late.

I might have to work outside tonight - if they get frozen pipe repaired

Gladly trade spots with you.

Once you are in the warmth - slight delay will be forgotten , have great trip.

Finally after walking out of house door in Maryland at 6am just walked in the door at house in Marathon at 6 pm. What a day of traveling. In all the years of making trips between homes I have never had a day like today. The heck with installing the new electronics on the boat tomorrow. I AM GOING FISHING!

mark1234 02-15-2015 11:03 PM

So what is the weather? I was there two weeks ago and miss the warm weather and sunshine. Nothing beats being in teens at breakfast and mid 70's by lunch.

Skip- I was outside last night and can verify the coldest time of day is between 3-5am. Add the wind and it was miserable.

Mako mike 02-16-2015 07:26 AM

Tommorrow looks good cold front with rain on Wednesday followed by cooler temps in the mid 60's not bad since I just saw it is 5 degrees at home and I am getting ready to head out and try to get some bait to fill pens for rest of week.

Funny how people react to the "cold" 60 degree days. Just thinking its only in the teens at home. Enjoy your trip. Definitely one of my favorite places to visit. Keep us updated on the fishing as we shovel our way out.

So tell us about the new electronics:)

What kind of boat do you have down there and what type of fishing:D

Are you going to be tarpon fishing under the bridge?
Are you using mullet?

Details man, details. It's damn cold up here:eek:

Glad you made it finally. Rest assured there are plenty of people in Maryland that can guarantee it was worth the wait! I'm in Louisville, KY where Wednesday might is forecasted to be -9 and thurs's high of 20*. Marathon is a MUCH better place to be.
Good luck with the fishing this week!!!

The water a little stirred up and murky , by Florida standards anyway. But hey, at least it ain't frozen! Caught plenty of baits for tomorrow. If weather holds as forecasted, we are going to try a little daytime sword fighting and then work way inshore for some edge of the reef fishing.
Marty as you know I love the OLD classic makos and have 28' with fold down tower here. Got some used (one year old simrad plotters/ finders from a neighbor down here that is sponsored by them. As for the fishing don't plan on tarpon, still a tad early for them. Like I said tomorrow swords otherwise cobia snapper blackfin and whatever else may be biting! Will keep you all posted. Planning on coming back in may for the tarpon though.

You should try some reef fishing at anchor.

If you happen to snag it - give me a call and 24 hours , I'll come recover it :D

You left just right - predicted 3-10 inches , with the normal chaos at stores everyone buying bread , milk and TP

I knew it was early for tarpon. I was down there in mid April one year and did well. I just wasn't sure how long you were going to stay:D

One year old Simrad equipment sounds like a winner:)

Good luck; keep the photo's coming.

Well if you really want to head down and retrieve some anchors your more than welcome skip. I would figure the legs would still be a little sore from seven days of diving in Cozumel! Usually down here on the patch reefs anyway, you snag the anchor, you look down see where it is and go over to get it! Nothing like the murky chesapeake. We will see what happens tomorrow. Will post pics if we get into anything interesting. Sory about the snow, but Marty and skip both live close enough to me they can clean the driveway and walks then take snowblower to go make some spring fishing fuel money, that is if you get bored.
