Hook and Liners caught half their June Quota in 2 days.

Is it possible they know what they are doing?

Next year will be different.

So with this horrible decline in the population that you claim, were you able to catch one of those rare fish?

Wow; I guess this thread will not die a quiet death:D

Some people go through life wearing "rose colored glasses", others are suspicious of everything and everyone. I have been very careful in what I wrote in the previous posts. NEVER have I professed a HORRIBLE decline. I actually do believe that there is a decline in the total stock of striped bass. I am concerned about the breeding stock. Anyone who fished the trophy season as shortly as five years year's ago, knows it takes longer to catch your limit than it did ( this is my opinion).

Reds implied that we need different tactics or a different delivery to catch fish today, as opposed to previous years. I am all for learning new techniques:D

Reds also thought the moderator was biased against him:eek: I don't see any example of that, but he has a right to his opinion.

It appears that ANYTHING that is written about commercial watermen is viewed as being extreme by either side. My example is you inserting the word HORRIBLE into my discussion.

It's a shame this happens. It reduces the conversation by polarizing the participants.

A good example of this happens to be this thread. I am done with it:( A good way to make sure the people who have an extreme view (like ban the nets; or make striped bass a gamefish) win the discussion is to silence those in the middle (who would like to see the stocks made more healthy).
Feel free to make any comments. You have the floor. Best of luck to you. Be safe, catch fish.

Oops; I will add one more thing.

CR and Reds;
I look forward to seeing more post from you; Reds has been a regular on this forum for a good while, I see CR doesn't have very many posts.

If you go back and view some of the other threads, you will see that our goal is to help other CBA's have a good experience fishing. Those of us who have the luxury of being on the water more often than most, try to help the "weekend warrior" be successful.
I hope that you can add to the quality of the board. Obviously, you have experience to lend.
Welcome to "our" community.

Marty,

Well said, let's retire this post or transfer it to the other board....We all know which board I mean....

If this rain can clear out, we can focus on what makes all of us happy...CATCHING !

Let me get this straight.

Start a thread and put someone else name as the starter.

Ask a lot of questions.

If you don't get the answers you want, then you blame someone else.

Blueprint right off Toilet Flush.;)

Sorry, but fail again.

The software only recognizes the DATE of the first post transferred in here, thus that post becomes the first post, and the author becomes the thread starter.

Even my post explaining that this had become its own thread got bumped to the middle.

I don't have a magic wand to fix it, but if it makes you feel better:

HEY EVERYONE.......REDS DIDN"T START THIS THREAD.

Some people will ***** that the sun still rises in the east.......

Yeah and others will B!tch "there are no fish" when they can't catch them.

Remember guys. Little Croakers are not Spot. Be careful what you fish with. Under 9" is a ticket.
Also Spot traps are illegal without a commercial finfish license, even for guides.

If someone cant tell the difference between a spot and croaker, the deserve a ticket! My kids know the difference.

fish pots are commercial gear. Guides and charters can only facilitate sportsmen to fish, therefore shouldnt be using commercial gear. Guides either need to buy spot from a licensed commercial fishermen or hook and line them. Heck, that is part of the fun or sport of live lining.. that is catching the spot.
