Engine trouble

It was the VRO motor, it's the fuel and oil mixture pump, when it starts to go bad it mixes too much oil creating more smoke and oil coming out the exhaust.
$500 part $200 for labor.

Great trip! Congrats.
So what was the cause of the engine trouble in the fall?

Wow; for a motor, that was an inexpensive fix. Good luck this season:)

Congrats - gotta love it when mayhem starts like that.

Hoping and praying for a better season than last year - your day gives me hope!

No kidding. Good old two strokes. Less complicated so typically easier to fix, and the smoke keeps the mosquitoes at bay! Although, sometimes I feel bad when starting up both motors at a dockside restaurant.

That is one hell of a day on the water, especially running solo. Hope to get on the water soon, I would love an action packed day like the one you had!

Congrats to a great day of catching.
Good inspiration for getting on the water soon.

Great report. Wish I had read it earlier. I wasted some time in shallow chasing gannets today. Lots of bait, no fish. Went deep and caught fish! :)

Greg; I did the same thing (almost). Moved the boat to Deale and set up the new lines for the slip. By the time we got out to fish it was noon. Saw decent amount of birds (gannets) in 35-50 ft and chased them off the water:D

Heard from another friend that he was catching in 70 ft and we only had a little while to stomp the deeper water. Wind kicked up about 2 pm and we pulled lines with nothing to show for our efforts. At least I'm consistent. And, I'm saving photo space on my phone too:eek: (no fish pics)

Next time I take her out; I'll have time to really put some effort into fishing.

I did catch one winter jellie today:mad::mad: Old guys in Deale are worried that they will come up off the bottom as water warms:(
